Bach’s flute sonatas stand as a centre piece in the flute repertoire and are integral to the development of the instrument. Their style of composition lends itself to varying partnerships, in this case with guitar duo. The eminent flautist, Marina Piccinini whom the Washington Post described as ”…talented and gorgeous in equal measure”, has discovered new elements through playing them with harpsichord and continuo, with piano, harp and even marimba.

The combination of flute and guitar duo arose from a discussion after a gala concert in New York, since when Marina Piccinini and the Brasil Guitar Duo have performed them many times.
