The Festival’s Young Musicians Platform competition has become a major event in the south-west. It ttracts candidates from as far as Bournemouth, Truro and Gloucester, with performing standards that rival any major national competition.
Previous winners are now finalists in this year’s BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition—in itself an indication of the high level of artistry coming out of the Two Moors event. Each year the Festival selects four winners at equal level to give a concert in October, each receiving prize money of £250. This year’s winners are gifted and a wonderful example of what young people can achieve through involvement with classical music.
