Maxim Rysanov is one of the most sought−after viola players in the world. His performance of Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations at the 2010 Last Night of the Proms was, according to Ivan Hewitt of the Daily Telegraph, "brilliantly played and turned into a showpiece for the viola". His concert schedule is frighteningly busy with visits to the Salzburg Festival and the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad to name but two prestigious dates in his 2011 diary as are concerts with Sir Mark Elder and Janine Jansen.
